What is NEET?

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held yearly to help students secure admission to the top medical institutions in India. In 2019, more than 13 lakh candidates gave NEET in 103 cities.

  • NEET will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2020.
  • All major dental and medical colleges offer students admission on the basis of their NEET scores, excluding AIIMS and JIPMER
  • There are 63,985 medical seats in private, central and state-funded institutions under NEET
  • The examination is conducted in 10 different languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya and Kannada
